President Nicolás Maduro: ‘Venezuela’s key to fight COVID-19 is the people’s collective conscience’

In a televised event to show the progress of the COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign, President Nicolás Maduro reaffirmed that the key of the Venezuelan methodology to fight COVID-19 has been to keep the Venezuelan people informed in detail about the situation, and they have shown their full conscience and discipline.

“The key of the Venezuelan methodology to fight COVID-19 is to keep the people well informed,” on the basis of a methodology that involves awareness of the importance of vaccination.

The Venezuelan president said that Venezuelan dynamic in this regard is far from authoritarianism, a model used by some countries to force or fine those people who don’t get vaccinated, as the Venezuelan method seeks to convince with arguments concerning the importance of vaccination.

Considering Venezuela’s performance against COVID-19, President Maduro said that “we can keep the country open by taking care of each other and getting vaccinated” so that “people can be free to go out, take a walk and work.”

“We have shown it! Yes, we can!” he said.

” We must be doing something right […] We are succeeding, and we must keep on doing it. We cannot claim victory. It is false that coronavirus will disappear in 2022,” said President Maduro.

The Venezuelan president insisted that “Venezuela’s key is the people’s collective conscience, to keep the people informed, appeal to their conscience and discipline, and the Government has to maintain its permanent leadership and presence by informing the people on a constant basis.”
