The People’s Power Minister for Foreign Relations of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Félix Plasencia, assured that the Plan Vuelta a la Patria restores the rights of Venezuelans who left the country driven by the harmful effects of unilateral coercive measures.
“This Plan restores the rights of Venezuelans, who were deceived by siren songs and who now live in poverty in countries that have failed in their social policy”, said the Minister.
During his speech at the 112th Council of the International Organization for Migration, High-Level Segment: The Repercussions of Covid-19 on Borders, Migration and Mobility-Lessons Learned and Preparation for the Future, he assured that compatriots who left the country “were deceived now living in conditions of poverty in countries that have failed in their social policy”.
The diplomat stressed that, despite being a victim of the illegal unilateral coercive measures imposed by the United States government, the Bolivarian Government has found in the Plan Vuelta a la Patria “a lasting and effective solution when it comes to guaranteeing voluntary return to the thousands of Venezuelan citizens who have expressed their willingness to return to Venezuela”.
He also pointed out that the plan “should be supported and replicated by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in these times of pandemic”.
