President Maduro opens 17th Venezuela’s International Book Fair (FILVEN 2021)

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, opened on Thursday the 17th Venezuela’s International Book Fair (FILVEN 2021), which will take place until November 14 in the outdoor spaces of the Legislative Federal Palace, the Bolivian Museum and the Librería del Sur (South’s Bookstore), in Caracas.

In the year of the Bicentennial of the Battle of Carabobo, the FILVEN will take place under the slogan “Reading liberates” and will feature 600 activities.

The guest of honor is the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, which will exhibit the work of its authors, its history and millenary culture.

Also, the FILVEN 2021 will include the participation of representatives from Argentina, Cuba, Spain, Mexico and Peru.

The FILVEN 2021 will pay tribute to journalist, politicians and writer José Vicente Rangel, and historian, philosopher and essayist Vladimir Acosta.

The FILVEN 2021 opening will serve to hand out the National Book Award and the Romulo Gallegos International Literature Award, Mariano Picon Salas Essay Award, and Carlos Noguera Novel Award.
