Venezuela’s President Nicolás Maduro welcomed on Monday morning the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Courts (ICC), Karim A.A. Khan QC, whos’ visiting the South American country to hold meetings with Venezuelan authorities.
At the meeting, President Maduro thanked the ICC prosecutor for addressing and knowing the Venezuelan case in depth, and for his will to meet in situ with the Venezuelan authorities in the spirit of the ICC cooperation. This meeting took place in the context of Venezuela’s strong commitment and respect for the ICC as one of the first signatory countries of the Rome Statute. Venezuela is willing to build bridges to establish a positive cooperation.
