Foreign Minister Plasencia meets in New York with Sanctions Kill international campaign’s activists

In New York, Venezuela’s Foreign Minister Félix Plasencia met on Thursday with U.S. social movements that comprise the “Sanctions Kill” international campaign, aimed at raising awareness of the damage caused by unilateral coercive measures (UCM).

The group of activists handed over a report collecting data and analysis on the illegality and harmful effects of the application of UCM, not only in Venezuela but also in the 39 countries that are currently withstanding the impact of unilateral coercive measures that violate international law.

Likewise, the activists announced they will deliver the document to all the U.S. Congress members and permanent representatives at the United Nations to demand the lifting of UCM and their use as instruments to put pressure on governments that do not ally with the United States.

The meeting was also attended by the Vice-minister for North America, Carlos Ron, and the Venezuelan Permanent Representative to the UN-New York, Samuel Moncada.
