The Vice-minister for Asia, the Middle East and Oceania of the People’s Power Ministry for Foreign Relations, Capaya Rodríguez González, participated in the commemoration of the 7th International Yoga Day, a celebration held at the Aquiles Nazoa Cultural House, this Monday, with the slogan Yoga for well-being.
The event was attended by the People’s Power Minister for Culture, Ernesto Villegas, and the deputy to the National Assembly, José Gregorio Vielma Mora.
During his opening speech, the Indian Ambassador to Venezuela, Abhishek Singh, reported on the yoga-related initiatives promoted by the Indian Government as well as the work carried out by that Diplomatic Mission in Venezuela.
Likewise, the meeting was an opportunity to discuss the strengthening of cooperation in the field of yoga and its popularization in various states of the country.
On the occasion of the consequences that the COVID-19 pandemic has left in its wake in the world, the Bolivarian Government reiterates its deep gratitude to the Indian Government for its important contribution by virtue of raising awareness among the peoples of the world about the benefits of the practice yoga, on a physical, mental and spiritual level, which has become popular in Venezuela in recent years.
