This Sunday, May 30, the webinar Relation of the drum with the heart and love was held in the Simón Bolívar Room of the People’s Power Ministry for Foreign Relations, within the framework of the XVI World Africa Week in Venezuela and the VII Cultural Festival with the Peoples of Africa, with the participation of the members of the “Grupo Herencia”, a Venezuelan musical group.
The telematic activity was led by the group’s general director, Manuel Moreno, who stressed that this meeting represents a “seed that is being sown again”, ensuring that the World Africa Week must become “the world experience of Africa in a permanently way”.
“I feel that at this moment we are in the capacity of; with the heart, the mind, the love and the drum; continuing this ancestral legacy, necessary for the materialization of the cultural fact”, stated the director Moreno, after his participation in the webinar.
For her part, the professor of the National Experimental University of the Arts (Unearte) and producer of the Grupo Herencia, Mónica Mancera, reiterated the request and the feeling of making World Africa Week permanent. “Let us the people be united as a sonorous brotherhood. We are going to keep beating the drum among drummers, let’s be one and let there be no boundaries between the continents, because this beat is ancient”, she said.
