Webinar “Creative bodies, resistances and territories from the Afro-Venezuelan” continues

Continuing with the activities framed in the XVI World Africa Week in Venezuela and the VII Cultural Festival with the Peoples of Africa, this Thursday the second day of the webinar Creative bodies, resistances and territories from the Afro-Venezuelan, was held at the Simón Bolívar Hall of the People’s Power Ministry for Foreign Relations with the participation of representatives of the National Experimental University of the Arts (Unearte).

The Vice-rector for Territorial Development of Unearte, Luis Mancera Pérez, pointed out that the activity was conducive to “debate on cultural practices, Afro-descendant and Afro-Venezuelan thought, in resistance to the colonial hegemon of the West”, highlighting the crossed fields that emerge from the historical resistance of the peoples.

He stated that within the framework of the Bicentennial of the Battle of Carabobo they honored “the memory of all Afro men and women who have fought” for the oppressed people, who even today continue to fight to combat the domination that the imperialism is trying to impose.

Cancillería y Unearte desarrollan seminario “Cuerpos, resistencias y territorios creadores desde lo afrovenezolano”

The webinar Creative bodies, resistances and territories from the Afro-Venezuelan began this Wednesday, started this wednesday and is headed by the Vice-minister for Africa of the Foreign Ministry, Yuri Pimentel and the rector of Unearte, Tibisay Lucena, who stressed that it is through the arts and the cultural manifestations that the peoples will achieve their true independence and will build a better world in solidarity.

The South-South cooperation has been a priority for Venezuela since the arrival of Commander Hugo Chávez and the Bolivarian Revolution, when the strengthening of bilateral relations and solidarity with the countries of the African continent was promoted, which is why every year these activities are celebrated in the country in honor of the Liberation of Africa and the creation of the Organization for African Unity, now the African Union.
