Turkish Embassy and Tika Agency provide aid to vulnerable communities in Caracas

This Thursday, within the framework of the month of Ramadan, a sacred date of prayer and reflection respected by Muslims in the world, the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Caracas together with the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (Tika), made an official delivery of a special aid to vulnerable communities of Axis 1 in the Center of Caracas.

During the delivery made in the spaces of the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry, the Turkish ambassador accredited to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Şevki Mütevellioğlu, expressed his pleasure for the donation and its importance, on such an important date for the Muslim community.

“I am very happy to make this delivery of assistance packages this year and in this month of Ramadan (…) Every year in the month of Ramadan we make a donation to those who need it most”, said the Turkish Ambassador.

Venezuela-Turkey: shared vision of a fairer world

For his part, the Vice-minister for Europe of the People’s Power Ministry for Foreign Relations, Yván Gil, pointed out that this important gesture exemplifies what the relationship between Venezuela and Turkey is at the moment.

He assured that “the activity is also an example of the political and diplomatic ties that both countries maintain, which are not limited to conventional diplomatic relations”, asserting that Venezuela and Turkey share the same principles and vision of a more just world, “a world of equality where human rights are respected, where freedom of thought is respected and where the sovereignty of the peoples is respected”.

Similarly, he recalled that last year 2020 Venezuela and Turkey celebrated the 70th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations, ties intensified in the last 8 years due to the brotherhood of their governments, solidarity, complementarity of their economies and mutual respect.

The spokesperson María Alejandra Méndez attended the emotional event on behalf of Axis 1 and the 8 benefited Community Councils, who expressed her gratitude for the important donation and for taking these communities into account.

“We are very grateful for this great help that you are going to give to so many families who are vulnerable. Above all, this is going to be most rewarding for these people.

It should be noted that the Republic of Turkey has been a strong ally for Venezuela in its fight against COVID-19; Hence, the Bolivarian Government has ratified its willingness to intensify its cooperation and collaboration agenda with this Eurasian country.
