The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, held a meeting with the deputy for the African National Congress (CNA), Zolani Mkiva, last Friday as part of the cooperation and brotherhood agenda that Venezuela maintains with the Republic of South Africa.
Through his Twitter account, the president said that “we held a fraternal meeting to strengthen the ties of solidarity, economic and commercial integration with our Mother Africa”.

At the same time, he stressed that the meeting served to advance the relations of brotherhood and respect between both countries, and added that “the ties of cooperation and friendship are strengthened for the development of our peoples. Long live our Mother Africa!”.
This is the fourth visit of Deputy Zolani Mkiva to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, with the aim of strengthening commercial and economic cooperation between the two countries through sustained working meetings with Venezuelan authorities, including the Venezuelan Foreign Minister, Jorge Arreaza, and the Commission of Foreign Policy of the National Assembly.
Deputy Zolani Mkiva also serves as President of the South Africa-Venezuela Solidarity Group (Sasuve), Secretary General of the South African Traditional Leaders Congress (Contralesa), and President of the Institute of African Royalty (IAR), a continental body which coordinates the initiatives of African traditional and cultural leaders.
