On Friday, May 14, Minister of People’s Power for Foreign Affairs Jorge Arreaza welcomed the Representative and Director ad interim of the World Food Program (WFP) in Venezuela, Susana Rico, to coordinate the South American country’s cooperation with this UN agency.
At this first meeting, also attended by the Foreign Vice-minister for Multilateral Affairs, Daniela Rodríguez, they moved forward with the consolidation of new food projects and plans for all the sectors of the country.
Noteworthily, on April 19, the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela endorsed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on assistance with high-ranking authorities of the World Food Program (WFP), the food-assistance branch of the United Nations (UN).
This alliance is part of Venezuela’s commitment to the 2030 Agenda, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the absolute, comprehensive protection provided by the Venezuelan Government to the people.
