The “Reencounter with the Pachamama” begins in Bolivia on the occasion of the International Day of Mother Earth

With the inauguration of the Expo Fair Natural Products of the Pachamama, in the Plaza San Francisco de La Paz, organized by the Plurinational Authority of Mother Earth, the Reencounter with the Pachamama began this Thursday in the Plurinational State of Bolivia, with the presence of President Luis Arce and Vice-president David Choquehuanca, and Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza representing the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

In his speech, the Bolivian Head of State pointed out that, regarding the preservation of the Pachamama (Mother Earth in Quechua), his government is making progress in reactivating the platform of indigenous, native and peasant organizations, and in the Plurinational Fund of the Mother Earth, in addition to the articulation with different actors of international cooperation.

“In these times, our Mother Earth is being threatened by the system of savage capitalist development, which has turned even life itself into merchandise, as it is the case with vaccines against COVID-19, which has destroyed the balance between nature and human beings”, warned the dignitary, justifying that for this reason it is essential to adopt a declaration of the rights of Mother Earth.
