Agreement between Venezuela and the UN WFP is an achievement of the Bolivarian Government

As “a great international achievement of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela”, the Head of State and Government, Nicolás Maduro, described the signing of the agreement with the World Food Program (WFP) of the United Nations Organization (UN).

The WFP will provide food assistance to children in initial education, in a first phase of the Falcón state, to later spread throughout the Venezuelan territory.

In this regard, President Maduro explained that during his meeting with the Executive Director of the aforementioned organization, David Beasley, joint work was also agreed between the Bolivarian Government and the WFP to strengthen the food of all sectors of the country.

After the visit of the senior UN official to the Miraflores Palace, a private meeting was held at the facilities of La Casona, Miranda state, in which some members of the Executive and the president of the National Assembly (AN) Jorge Rodríguez, also participated, “who has a beautiful friendship with David Beasley”, explained Maduro.

“We have taken a first step, but as President of the Republic I am ready to move forward immediately, boldly in the signing of new projects, agreements and food plans that put the life and development of the entire Venezuelan family at the center”, Highlighted the South American president.

On April 19, the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the provision of assistance with the heads of the World Food Program (WFP), a body of the United Nations (UN).

The alliance is part of the commitment that Venezuela has assumed with the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals, the absolute and comprehensive protection that the Venezuelan Government guarantees to the people.
