Bicentennial Congress of the Peoples is opportune in the midst of capitalist debauchery

In order to “guarantee the practical and concrete usefulness” of the Bicentennial Congress of the Peoples of the World, which will be held between June 21 and 24, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, advocated for the full articulation between national and international social movements.

He explained that through the linking of representatives of the 40 chapters of the Bicentennial Congress of the Peoples, whose national plenary was held on February 27, with related organizations around the world, experiences will be shared that result in a common strategy to counteract the onslaught of the dominant system.

“It is a good opportunity to confront the capitalist debauchery against our peoples, share experiences, articulate a common strategy and think about a better world from the inspiration of (Simón) Bolívar and (the battle of) Carabobo”, he stressed during a virtual meeting with 1,873 foreign delegates of the Bicentennial Congress of the Peoples of the World.

This call reinforced the approach of the Argentine political scientist and professor Atilio Borón, who pointed out the need to establish “a powerful articulation” of the peoples of the world that “puts an end to capitalist barbarism.”

“Without coordination we will not have any possibility of countering the imperial onslaught that has been launched so fiercely against the peoples who are fighting for their independence, self-determination and true democracy”, Borón emphasized.

International muralism

The muralism movement that began in Venezuela will extend to the 164 countries that attend the Bicentennial Congress of the Peoples of the World, an action that stems from a proposal submitted by the coordinator of the Congress promoting team, Héctor Rodríguez.

“It is good to start this idea”, said the Dignitary.

Rodríguez, who highlighted the holding of preparatory meetings for the international plenary session, called for “finding ourselves in creativity” through the dynamics of agitation in the media, networks and walls.
