Bicentennial Commission moves forward with preparations to celebrate 200 years of the Battle of Carabobo

The Bicentennial Presidential Commission of the Battle of Carabobo, headed by Vice-president Delcy Rodríguez, held an important video conference on Monday to move forward with the preparations to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Carabobo, to take place this year.

At the Executive Vice-president’s Office, the Venezuelan authorities addressed different areas of action such as culture, communication, education and history to highlight the milestones of this transcendental event. Likewise, they assessed the progress made in the reconstruction of the Carabobo Battlefield.

The video conference was attended by the minister of People’s Power for Defense, Vladimir Padrino Lopez; the minister of People’s Power for the President’s Office, Jorge Márquez; the Executive Secretary of the Bicentennial Commission, Carlos Osorio; and historian Pedro Calzadilla.

To commemorate the 200 years of the Battle and Victory of Carabobo on June 24, 2021, the Bicentennial Commission was set up to undertake different areas of action such as communication, culture, education and history, and inform the Venezuelan people about the highlights of this historical event.

Noteworthily, the Bicentennial Presidential Commissions preserves the historical memory of the Battle of Carabobo, an event that led to and marked the foundation of our Independence.
