Economy Vice-president and Minister of People’s Power for Oil, Tareck El Aissami, participated on Wednesday in the 27th Meeting of the OPEC+ Joint Ministerial Monitoring Committee (JMMC), where he highlighted that cooperation among countries has allowed to make steps towards the desired balance of the world oil market.
“Today we meet at the 27th Meeting of the OPEC+ Joint Ministerial Monitoring Committee (JMMC), vindicating the success of cooperation among countries, which has allowed to achieve the desired balance of the world energy market,” wrote El Aissami on his Twitter account @TareckPSUV.
Minister El Aissami stressed that “once we overcame the difficulties of 2020, a year marked by the COVID-19 pandemic, in March, the oil market is showing clear signs of recovery regarding consumption, supply and prices. This encourages us to continue making progressive production adjustments,” he wrote.
The meeting was chaired by Prince Abdul Aziz BinSalmán Al Saud, JJMC President and Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Energy, Industries and Mineral Resources; His Excellency Mr. Alexander Novak, Russia’s Prime Vice-minister, and Mr. Mohammad Barkindo, OPEC Secretary General, who opened the meeting.
The virtual meeting, held from Vienna, Austria, was attended by the OPEC member countries Saudi Arabia, Algeria, United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Kuwait, Nigeria and Venezuela; and Kazakhstan and Russia as Non-OPEC countries.
