Presidential Commission for the Defense of the Essequibo remains in permanent session

The Presidential Commission for the Defense of the Essequibo, headed by the Executive Vice-president of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, held a meeting with the objective of debating the agenda that addresses the issue of the territorial dispute over the Atlantic Façade of the Essequibo.

The conference included the participation of the President of the Special Commission of the National Assembly (AN) for the Defense of the Essequibo Territory, Deputy Hermann Escarrá, accompanied by the Vice-president of this instance, Earle Herrera, as well as the Sector Vice-president of Political Sovereignty , Security and Peace, G / J Vladimir Padrino López, the Venezuelan Foreign Minister, Jorge Arreaza, the Attorney General, Reinaldo Enrique Muñoz Pedroza and the Operational Strategic Commander of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (Ceofanb), Remigio Ceballos Ichaso.

This commission was instructed by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, in order to keep promoting the policies that have been devised for the defense of sovereignty and the Essequibo territory, in accordance with the provisions of the 1966 Geneva Agreement, which is the only international instrument specially signed to govern the territorial controversy over Guayana Esequiba.

It is worth remembering that since 2015, when a new government was established in Guyana, it has tried to break with all the friendly forms of negotiation that had been carried out from the good offices in the framework of the 1966 Geneva Agreement.

Venezuela maintains its irreducible struggle and will not renounce to the territory of Guayana Esequiba, a territory that belongs to this country from Gran Colombia. Likewise, the sovereign rights of the Republic over this area are maintained in the context of the multiform aggressions undertaken by the United States Government.
