The People’s Power Minister for Foreign Relations, Jorge Arreaza, reported on Tuesday night the arrival of the first oxygen cylinders in the Brazilian city of Manaus to help combat the health contingency derived from the COVID-19 pandemic in the neighbour country.
“At this time, the first trucks – cylinders with oxygen sent by President Nicolás Maduro to attend to the health crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, arrive in the city of Manaus, Brazil”, was the message written by the Venezuelan Foreign Minister. through his Twitter account @jaarreaza.

Likewise, the diplomat stressed that this was “true solidarity! Real humanitarian aid!”
The action corresponds to the announcement made by the Venezuelan Minister in recent days, in which he detailed that after a sustained communication with the Governor of Amazonas (Brazil), Wilson Lima, a binational mechanism was activated for the transfer of trucks with cylinders of oxygen from the Bolívar State.
Currently, Brazil is the country with the second deadliest coronavirus outbreak in the world after the United States, with Manaus being one of the first Brazilian cities affected by a death toll and an increasing burden of cases since the first wave of the pandemic on last year.
