Indonesia’s Ambassador presents credentials to President Nicolás Maduro

The delegation of the Republic of Indonesia handed over on Monday the credentials of new Ambassador to Venezuela Imam Edy Mulyono to President Nicolás Maduro.

The ceremony took place in the «Sol de Perú» Hall at the Miraflores Presidential Palace., where the Venezuelan President received the Indonesian high-ranking official. Venezuela’s Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza also attended the ceremony.

The Indonesian diplomat stood out after being appointed as Force Commander of the UN Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara from 2013 to 2015.

Prior to 2016, Mr. Mulyono was the Special Counselor for International Relations in the Indonesian Land Armed Forces Command. In 2018, he was appointed as Coordinator of the Office of Special Advisers of the Indonesian Armed Forces, a post he took on until 2019.

Venezuela and Indonesia have maintained diplomatic relations for more than 60 years, and have managed to establish bilateral cooperation projects in mining, tourism, agriculture, natural gas, the pharmaceutical industry, energy and the agri-food industry.
