Venezuela ratifies its solidarity with Granada after 35 years of the fateful US invasion
The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro Moros, on behalf of the Venezuelan Government and People, greets the brotherly and combatant Grenadian people, on the occasion of commemorating one more year of that fateful October 25, 1983, when imperialist and invading forces of seven thousand American soldiers, invaded the sovereignty and dignity of the island of Grenada.
The noble and brave People of Grenada challenged the hegemonic intentions of the major powers by raising its voice of dignity and independence and forging for itself an equal society based on the principles of social justice and equity. Its only sin was to try to exercise its right to self-determination and national sovereignty, opposing against the imperial intent to maintain the colonial yoke on the Grenadian population.
We extend our greetings to the heroic People and Government of Grenada, reiterating the commitment to make progresses together towards the construction of a fairer world, and ensure the Caribbean to be a Zone of Peace for our peoples.
