President Nicolas Maduro Moros, on behalf of the Government and the People of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, is saddened by the fatal traffic accident occurred in the Autonomous Region of Madeira, Wednesday 17 of April, 2019, leaving at least 28 dead persons of different nationalities, most of them Germans, and several injured.
The Bolivarian Government of Venezuela offers its heartfelt condolences to the People and authorities of the Government of the Portuguese Republic, and especially expresses its solidarity to the German People, as well as to the families and friends of the victims.
The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela reiterates once again the ties of friendship with the Portuguese Republic, as well as the feeling of brotherhood that has united our nations for more than 100 years.
