His teachings and supportive and loving poetry will live among the excluded as an immortal legacy. The news peoples of Our America felt in Don Pedro a prophet of Christianity and humanism, whom they described as “warm and risky” and added “to be a humanist is to try to be human, and to be human is to commit oneself”. The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, along with his Government, extends the most heartfelt condolences to the loved ones of Don Pedro Casaldáliga, extendable to the humble, indigenous peoples, the Blessed who in times of difficulty were guided and protected by his knowledge and kindness.
