Venezuela categorically rejects parody of self-proclamation in Bolivia
The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela expresses its firm rejection of the parody represented yesterday in the Bolivian Legislative Assembly, which led to the illegal self-proclamation of a congresswoman as the supposed Head of State, an act with which it was intended to give a letter of nature and legitimacy to the forced defection of the legitimate President of the Plurinational State of Bolivia, comrade President Evo Morales Ayma.
There is great concern about the recurrence of these formulas used by the region’s right-wing coup to seize the political power that it is unable to gain by the votes of its peoples, through twisted interpretations of constitutional norms about the rise and succession to the Head of State, as they have shown in successive coups d’états in Venezuela in 2002, Honduras in 2009, Paraguay in 2012, Brazil in 2016, the usurpation of the post of Vice President in Ecuador in 2018, the frustrated attempt of usurpation in Venezuela in 2019 and finally the grotesque event yesterday in Bolivia. This spurious action was public, notorious and communicational, produced with the assistance of only one third of the deputies, far from the quorum needed for the Legislative Assembly to be able to legally be in session, and was also a collegiate body in which 2/3 of its members belong to the MAS, a political party led by President Evo Morales.
It should be noted that the opprobrious Organization of American States has been the main instrument of imperialism to execute the coup d’état in Bolivia, through the false electoral audit conducted and the justification of what happened on the basis of unfounded accusations of fraud, composed with the rancor, violent and racist Bolivian oligarchy.
Venezuela rejects the usurpation of the presidency of the Plurinational State of Bolivia and calls on the international community to contribute to the restoration of constitutional order, rejecting the parliamentary fraud that they intend to impose on the brotherly Andean country, which inevitably leads to greater political and social instability.
