President Nicolás Maduro congratulates the Panamanian people for a successful election day on Sunday
The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, on behalf of the Venezuelan People, offers his sincerest congratulations to the Panamanian People for the successful elections held last Sunday 5th, 2019.
In light of this civic and democratic process of general elections, it is worth highlighting the excellent participation of the Panamanian people and the respect for people’s sovereignty, allowing citizens to exercise their right to vote, as established by the body guaranteeing such process.
The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela honors and ratifies the people’s decision-making processes as the guarantee of sovereignty, democracy and peace for our peoples and congratulates the elected President of the Republic of Panama, Laurentino Cortizo Cohen, for this democratic victory.
The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro Moros, is confident that the new government of Panama, under the leadership of its elected President, Laurentino Cortizo Cohen, will vindicate the role of the Republic of Panama, as a daughter of Liberator Simon Bolivar’s libertarian sword, and recover its Bolivarian nature, as the Latin American and Caribbean geopolitical center for the great Latin American union, as expressed by Liberator Simon Bolivar in the Convention for the Amphyctionic Congress of Panama, December 7th, 1824.
The Bolivarian Government of Venezuela expresses its will and firm readiness to work jointly with the elected government of the sister Republic of Panama, in order to strengthen and consolidate bilateral relations based on respect, the non-interference in internal affairs, self-determination, sovereignty and the construction of Latin America and the Caribbean as a prosperous zone of peace united through cooperation and solidarity, for the benefit of our Peoples.
