President Nicolás Maduro regrets the death of Kofi Atta Annan
The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro Moros, on behalf of the People and Bolivarian Government, conveys his sincerest condolences for the regrettable passing of Kofi Atta Annan, who was the Secretary-General of the United Nations Organization since 1997 until 2006, and also undertook other important duties and positions within the United Nations System as well.
The Bolivarian Government reiterates its grief due to such regrettable loss, but at the same time it remembers and exalts the memory of the man who devoted considerable efforts for achieving the peace and security of the peoples and nations of the world. The Venezuelan people will always remember him with profound admiration and respect because of these works and efforts.
Once more, the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela expresses its sympathies to all the family and relatives of the former UN Secretary-General, Kofi Annan and at the same time it pays tribute to his memory and legacy of peace bequeathed to the future generations of humankind.
