Economy Vice-president El Aissami: ‘Venezuela fosters consensus to achieve stability of world’s oiI markets’

Economy Vice-president and Minister of People’s Power for Oil stressed on Thursday that Venezuela supports consensus to achieve stability of the world’s oil market and a new post-pandemic economic beginning.

“New post-pandemic times start with the stability of the oil energy market. Venezuela is here playing a protagonist role and supporting consensus to build a feasible stability of oil markets in the world. We will defeat,” said El Aissami on a video posted on his Twitter account @tareckpsuv on the occasion of the XXII OPEC, OPEC+ Ministerial Meeting.

El Aissami said the OPEC+ Declaration of Cooperation, adopted four years ago, has become a virtuous mechanism enabling to overcome this difficult year, hit by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Venezuela’s leadership with our Commander Hugo Chávez, and then with our President Nicolás Maduro, has enabled us to strengthen the OPEC and OPEC+, and it has enabled us to open horizons for future times,” he said.

The XXII Ministerial Meeting is attended by the chiefs of delegations from Angola, Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Congo, United Arab Emirates, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Iraq, Iran, Kuwait, Libya, Nigeria and Venezuela, as well as non-OPEC countries Azerbaijan, Bahrein, Brunei Darussalam, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Mexico, Oman, Russia, Sudan and South Sudan.
