National Electoral Council presents Balance on the electoral process of the next 6D to the Diplomatic Corps accredited in Venezuela

The president of the National Electoral Council (CNE), Indira Alfonzo, in the company of the People’s Power Minister for Foreign Relations, Jorge Arreaza, presented this Tuesday before the Diplomatic Corps accredited in Venezuela and abroad the Balance on the Electoral Process, which will be celebrated next Sunday, December 6, when the Venezuelan people will elect the deputies who will represent them in the National Assembly.

During the activity carried out at the Strategic Operations Center of the Electoral Power, in Caracas, the Head of Venezuelan diplomacy conveyed to the international delegations the gratitude from President Nicolás Maduro, “for being here, for your concern for the Venezuelan people and its electoral system, despite the differences or adversities that we may have had with any of the countries represented here today”.

“From the National Government we say that it is very important that the representatives of the peoples and governments accredited in Venezuela, be able to witness, experience and feel the reality of the Venezuelan people when they go to elect their representatives to strengthen their democratic institutions”, said the Foreign Minister Arreaza.

The Venezuelan Foreign Minister denounced the intentions of the international media, specifically from the Miami-Bogotá-Madrid axis, to delegitimize the electoral process. “They are overwhelmed and unbridled with information to question the elections in Venezuela, but there you will see a free, independent, sovereign people, electing their National Assembly”, he stressed.

More than 200 international observers

For her part, the president of the Electoral Power, Indira Alfonzo, pointed out that more than 200 international observers will accompany the upcoming elections, with representatives from at least 24 countries.

She explained that these elections are a proposal with more than 14 thousand candidates from various organizations with national, regional and indigenous political purposes. “These organizations represent more than 90% of the organizations with political purposes that are enabled in this country”, she said.
