Venezuela reiterates commitment to multilateralism, energy cooperation at 180th Meeting of OPEC Conference

Vice-president for Economy and Minister of People’s Power for Oil, Tareck El Aissami, reiterated on Monday Venezuela’s commitment to multilateralism and energy cooperation at the 180th Meeting of the OPEC Conference.

“We start this week with Venezuela’s participation in the 180th Meeting of the OPEC Conference. We reiterate our commitment to multilateralism and energy cooperation. The OPEC plays a fundamental role for economic recovery in 2012. United, we will defeat,” posted El Aissami on his Twitter account.

On another post, he wrote: “Long live the OPEC,” referring to the 180th Meeting of the OPEC Conference, held via video conference in Vienna, Austria.

The meeting is attended by Heads of Delegations from Angola, H.E. Diamantino Pedro Azevedo, minister of Mineral Resources and Petroleum; Saudi Arabia, H.E. Prince Abdul Aziz Bin Salmán Al Saud, minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources; Algeria, H.E. Abdelmadjid Attar, minister of Energy; Congo, H.E. Jean Maarc Thysteren Tchicaya, minister of Hydrocarbons; United Arab Emirates, H.E. Suhail Mohamed Faraj Al Mazrouei, minister of Energy; and Gabon, Vincent de Paul Massassa, minister of Oil, Gas, Hydrocarbons and Mines.

Also, H.E. Gabriel Mbaga Obiang Lima, Equatorial Guinea’s minister of Industry, Mines and Energy; H.E. Ihsan Abdul Jabbar Ismaael, Iraq’s minister of Oil; H.E. Bijan Namdar Zanganeh, Iran’s minister of Oil; H.E. Khaled Ali Al-Fadhel, Kuwait’s minister of Oil; H.E. Mustafá Sanalla, Libya’s president of the National Corporation of Petroleum; and H.E. Timipre Sylva, Nigeria’s minister of state for Oil Resources, also participate in the 180th Meeting of the OPEC Conference.
