Indonesian Ambassador presents his Copies of Credentials to Foreign Minister Arreaza

The new ambassador appointed by the Republic of Indonesia, Imam Edy Mulyono, presented his Copies of Credentials to the People’s Power Minister for Foreign Relations, Jorge Arreaza, on Tuesday as part of the diplomatic accreditation process before the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

During the formal ceremony, which was also attended by the Vice-minister for Asia, the Middle East and Oceania, Rubén Dario Molina, the diplomats updated issues inherent to the relationship of cooperation and bilateral association that they have achieved for more than 60 years.

Currently, Venezuela and Indonesia share cooperation projects in agri-food, energy, mining, tourism, agriculture, industrial, gas, pharmaceutical and chemical matters, among other areas, as well as other exchange initiatives in line with the countries of the Association of Nations of the Southeast Asia (Asean).

Ambassador Imam Edy Mulyono has had a broad professional and international career, especially in peacekeeping missions under the auspices of the United Nations.

From 2013 to 2015, he was appointed by the Secretary General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon, as Commander of the Forces of the UN Special Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara (Minurso); in 2016 he held the position of Special Counselor for International Relations in the Indonesian Land Armed Forces Command; In 2017 he was a member of the Strategic Reserve of the Indonesian Armed Forces Command and from 2018 to 2019 he was as Coordinator of the Office of Special Advisers of the Indonesian Armed Forces.
