Venezuela conducts International Seminar “Education and Professional Technical Training in Latin America and the Caribbean”

This Monday, November 16, the International Seminar Education and Professional Technical Training in Latin America and the Caribbean was held, with the participation of the People’s Power Minister for Education, Aristóbulo Istúriz; the Vice-minister for Multilateral Issues of the People’s Power Ministry for Foreign Relations, Daniela Rodríguez, and the president of the National Institute of Training and Socialist Education (Inces), Wuikelman Angel.

During his speech at the telematic meeting, Minister Istúriz praised the importance of the activity due to the value of sharing experiences and reflections to move forward together as a region in the construction of new educational models based on the needs of the peoples.

For the Venezuelan Minister, technical and professional training must be linked to the economic development of the country:

“We began the process of building a new productive, supportive and sovereign economic model (…) It requires a qualified, technical, professional and politically committed workforce with the development model that we are promoting and that, at the same time, has a deep social commitment to meeting the needs and well-being of our people”, he said.

For her part, the Vice-minister for Multilateral Issues, Daniela Rodríguez, stated that “education represents the main emancipatory instrument of our peoples for the transformation of their social, economic and political reality”, for which she highlighted the spirit of the Bolivarian Government in the construction of an educational model “that seeks to transcend the formation of mere objects at the service of the global capitalist system.”

The Vice-minister emphasized the importance for the Ministry of Foreign Relations to promote the bonds of solidarity and cooperation between the State, People’s Power and educational entities “to promote joint work”, considering that the “United Nations system accredited in the country can contribute and play a very important role so that this relationship is strengthened”, she emphasized.

The International Seminar Education and Professional Technical Training in Latin America and the Caribbean is organized by Inces and will run until Tuesday, November 17, with the aim of exchanging methodological, curricular and adaptation experiences in times of pandemic.

The invitation is addressed to the general public through the Inces digital platforms: YouTube and Instagram @Incessocialista, on Monday 16 from 9:00 a.m. at 2:00 p.m. and on Tuesday 17, also from 9:00 a.m. but until 4:00 p.m.
