President Maduro announces the appointment of Alexander Yánez as the new Venezuelan ambassador to Bolivia

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, announced this Sunday the appointment of citizen Alexander Yánez as the new Venezuelan ambassador to the Plurinational State of Bolivia, at the beginning of a new era of bilateral relations that suffered a fracture as a result of the coup that at the end of 2019 overthrew Evo Morales.

So far, the diplomat has served as Vice-minister for Multilateral Affairs of the People’s Power Ministry for Foreign Relations of Venezuela.

He was Ambassador of Venezuela in the Republic of Peru and Charge d’Affaires of the Venezuelan Embassy in Belize. In July 2014 he was appointed as Vice-minister for Latin America of the Foreign Ministry.

The diplomat was part of the national delegation, led by Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza, who attended this Sunday the inauguration of the newly elected president of Bolivia, Luis Arce.

“I sent Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza, as head of the presidential delegation of Venezuela, with a letter requesting approval for the new ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, he will be the current Vice Foreign Minister Alexander Yánez; new ambassador of Venezuela in the Plurinational State of Bolivia”, said President Maduro during a working day dedicated to the health sector.
