Venezuela and Equatorial Guinea address bilateral cooperation agenda on special education

This Friday, through videoconference, a meeting was held between the People’s Power Ministry for Education of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the Ministry of Education, University Teaching and Sport of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, with the aim of promoting the agenda of bilateral cooperation in special education.

The Venezuelan Vice-minister of Initial and Elementary Education, Gisela Toro, began the telematic meeting by transmitting a solidarity greeting from the Venezuelan Minister of Education and Sector Vice-president for Social and Territorial Socialism, Aristóbulo Isturiz, highlighting the development in the educational sector of Venezuela, as an instrument of social inclusion, promoted by the Bolivarian Revolution, initiated by Commander Hugo Chávez and, currently, led by President Nicolás Maduro.

After introducing the team that accompanied her, the Vice-minister emphasized the total willingness of Venezuela to support and exchange experiences in the field of special education with the authorities of Equatorial Guinea.

For his part, the General Director of Early Childhood, Elementary, Literacy and Special Education, Alfonso Alogo Ndong Ayang, stressed the importance of developing the area of ​​special education by the Equatorial Guinean Government.

“It is about to define actions that allow intervention in the educational sector to improve its coverage, in favor of young Equatorial Guineans who present special conditions for learning, as well as for those who have a disability (…) And we are sure that the cooperation with Venezuela will be important to promote this sector”, stated the Equatorial Guinean director.

Likewise, the Equatorial Guinean representative reiterated the potential of cooperation between the two countries, taking into consideration “the political will between both Governments, the facilities in the use of the same language and the important experience that Venezuela can provide for training and support in the education sector, a priority for the Government of Equatorial Guinea”.

The meeting, moderated by the Venezuelan ambassador in Malabo, Nelson Javier Ortega Bonilla, allowed the exchange of experiences as a starting point for the promotion of cooperation in this important sector for inclusive social development.

It should be noted that, on behalf of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, the Venezuelan Vice-minister of Initial and Elementary Education, Gisela Toro, and the Director of Special Education, Moraima Cazola of the People’s Power Ministry for Education of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela attended.

For the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, the General Director of Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Literacy and Special Education, Alfonso Alogo Ndong Ayang, in the company of the coordinator of Institutional Projects, Aquila Asumu Mongo and the coordinator Pio Nsue Engonga, Regional Coordinator of Preschool Education of the Ministry of Education, University Teaching and Sports attended.
