As part of the virtual meetings scheduled between Venezuela and the “Group of Friends of Cocoa in Japan,” the second working meeting was held on Tuesday in order to strengthen the Venezuelan cocoa presence in the Japanese market.
In this regard, the Bank of Foreign Trade (Bancoex) and the Socialist Corporation of Cocoa participated in the video conference to present a project to boost cocoa production in Venezuela in order to seek future alliances between the public sectors of the two countries.
On behalf of Venezuela, the virtual meeting was also attended by the Embassy of Venezuela to Japan, Venezuelan private cocoa exporting and chocolate producing companies, and the Venezuela-Japan Business Chamber.
On behalf of Japan, the meeting was attended by Cargill Japan, the Hiroshi Ogata candy shop, Itochu Co. Ltd, Lotte Co., Ltd, Meiji Holdings Company, Ltd, MC Agri Alliance, MC Foods Limited, Tachibana & Co. Ltd.
In this new edition, Venezuelan cocoa producing and exporting companies had the chance to provide relevant information to Japanese companies in order to continue boosting the sector’s economy in the two countries.
Noteworthily, Japan is the first importing country of Venezuelan cocoa, widely recognized as the world’s best, and a booming market for cocoa trade.
The “Groups of Venezuelan Cocoa Friends in Japan” is a new platform gathering cocoa and chocolate entrepreneurs and companies seeking to increase trade in Japan.
