Electoral drill far exceeds expectations - MPPRE

Electoral drill far exceeds expectations

With massive attendance, the electoral simulation provided for the regulations and scheduled for the parliamentary elections on December 6 was held this Sunday, October 25. The event received praise and high marks from voters, representatives of political parties, national and international observers, as well as the country’s authorities.

The response of the Venezuelan people from the early hours exceeded expectations, to the point that it was necessary to extend the initially set closing time from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Even that measure was insufficient and until around 7:00 pm, electoral centers where there were still people in line waiting to participate had to remain open.

The event was developed under biosanitary protocols, in accordance with the Strategic Biosafety Plan established in the framework of the 6D elections. 100% of the technical and operational personnel responsible for the drill attended, and the results showed 100% effectiveness in the voting process. The human, technical and logistical deployment allowed the smooth installation of the 945 polling stations planned in the 481 authorized centers. A total of 1,000 voting machines were activated.

Perfect performance

The new electoral technology solution passed the simulation test with an outstanding rating. Voters expressed their satisfaction that the process is quick and easy. The machine worked perfectly, reported the president of the Electoral Power.

“Its operation was efficient, effective, and guided by the principles of transparency, reliability, impartiality, equity, equality, popular participation and speed, provided in the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela”, said Rector Alfonzo, while highlighting that the tests and their results were better than expected.

Impeccable timing

The coordination mechanisms between the State bodies and entities that make up the National Logistics Committee also successfully passed the test; among them Strategic Operational Command of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (Ceofanb), Corpoelec, Cantv, Civil Protection, Firefighters, People’s Power Ministries for Health and Education. The Public Ministry also deployed more than 1,100 prosecutors throughout the country.

“The protocols for installation, constitution, data transmission, technical support, as well as the measurement of voting times, the logistics for the deployment of the ballot box with electoral material, the custody by the FANB troops, among others, fundamental protocols for the development of our electoral process were tested”, said the president of the CNE.

Likewise, the contingency plans and the technical electoral knowledge of the operators were evaluated.

Overseers, candidates and authorities

The electoral simulation deserved once again the high valuation not only of voters, but also of observers, candidates from the various political options represented by the 107 parties -98 of them opposition- registered for the parliamentarians and national authorities.

Carleslia Ascanio, electoral observer of the NGO Social Project -with 17 years of experience of participation in electoral processes in Venezuela- described the voting simulation as a neat process, guarantor of biosecurity. She also highlighted the modernization of the electoral system infrastructure. “It is a transparent, safe, reliable electoral process, with all the security measures that the competent bodies are guaranteeing.”

Reinaldo Díaz, candidate for the opposition Democratic Alliance, celebrated the good development of the simulation and pointed out that “the only reliable way” is to vote. “You must not let someone else choose the future of our country”, he said.

Negal Morales, candidate for the opposition Alianza Venezuela Unida, said that “the process is very simple, the voting machines are fast, the screen is bigger, the cards are more beautiful … The process does not take more than 30 seconds to complete.”

Jorge Rodríguez, national candidate for the AN and campaign manager for the Great Patriotic Pole, emphasized that Venezuela’s response is through voting, within the framework of the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. He explained that the Venezuelan electoral system has been improved more and more, and the new machines are more efficient, more robust and friendlier.

Thus, this Sunday was a successful day, which should fill the people and institutions of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela with pride. In the words of the President of the Electoral Power: “It is time to be co-responsible, ultimately, of public health but also to express ourselves freely and sovereignly through suffrage, it is time to choose.”
