National Electoral Council presents New Electoral Technological Solution of the Automated Voting System

This Friday, the National Electoral Council (CNE) presented to the political parties, social media, diplomatic corps accredited in the country and the Venezuelan representation abroad, the New Electoral Technological Solution of the Automated Voting System that will be used in the parliamentary elections on December 6.

The presentation broadcast from Plaza Caracas was attended by the People’s Power Minister for Foreign Relations, Jorge Arreaza; the Strategic Operational Commander of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces, Remigio Ceballos, among other authorities and rectors of the Electoral Power.

According to the president of the CNE, Indira Alfonzo, the new voting machine that will be used in the upcoming elections has a unique and more secure data transmission network, and a software that shortens the voting time (below 20 seconds), integrated batteries that allow electrical independence in their functions and tools to assist people with some type of disability.

She stressed that the model is more compact, thanks to the incorporation of a digital LCD screen that allows the unique connection to the biometric verification system, which prolongs the useful life of the equipment.

The rector Carlos Quintero explained that it is a machine completely designed in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, by Venezuelan technicians, with the experience that the Electoral Power has accumulated over these 20 years, and “since 2004 we started the race for automated voting.”

The electoral process will have 16 audits, 12 of which will be carried out in its preparation phase, another on election day and three after the elections, in addition to audits of electoral data, and totalization software to generate confidence between the political organizations to be measured.
