The new ambassador appointed by the Swiss Confederation, Jürg Sprecher, presented his Copies of Credentials to the People’s Power Minister for Foreign Relations, Jorge Arreaza, on Tuesday as part of the diplomatic accreditation process before the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
In the formal meeting, both diplomats exchanged opinions on the strategies implemented by both countries during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Foreign Minister Arreaza also expressed the Venezuelan Government’s commitment to maintaining good bilateral relations with the European country.
He also stressed the importance of holding the parliamentary elections on December 6, which are the result of a fruitful process of dialogue.
Ambassador Jürg Sprecher has held diplomatic functions in Spain and Andorra; He was also head of the Middle East and Africa Section in the Bilateral Economic Relations Division of the Federal Department of Economics, Training and Research between 2018 and 2020.
