Venezuela receives supplies from Vietnam for the prevention of COVID-19
The Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Caracas delivered on Thursday a supply of 20 thousand masks for the prevention of COVID-19 in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
The masks were received by the Director General of the Office of the President of the National Constituent Assembly, Luis Camargo. These supplies correspond to a donation made by the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, on May 15.
On that occasion, the president of the Vietnamese Parliament, Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, highlighted that the current pandemic “has imposed great risks and non-traditional challenges on the world that require the joint effort of all countries and, in view of this, Vietnam is and will always be a responsible member of the international community”.
Before being sent, the aforementioned donation was kept in the care of the Venezuelan Embassy in Hanoi, later it was transferred to Havana, Cuba, and included in two humanitarian flights that arrived in Caracas in mid-August.
The cargo received also contained supplies offered by the Ambassador of Vietnam, Le Viet Duyen, to the People’s Power Ministers for Productive Agriculture and Lands, Wilmar Castro Soteldo, and Health, Carlos Alvarado, during previously held meetings.
