Venezuela and India strengthen cooperation and brotherhood projects

The Executive Vice-president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, led a meeting this Tuesday with the new ambassador of the Indian Republic in Venezuela, Abhishek Singh, with the aim of continuing to strengthen cooperation projects between both nations in educational, commercial, cultural, among other matters.

Since October 1, 1959 Venezuela and India began their ties of brotherhood and cooperation; Since then, their diplomatic relations have been strengthening day by day.

With the visit of President Hugo Chávez to India in March 2005, it was then agreed with his counterpart A.P.J. Abdul Kalam a South-South rapprochement between both peoples and governments, and from there important energy and hydrocarbon agreements have been signed, as well as in the area of ​​health, agriculture, air transport and in the cultural field, establishing a Mixed Commission.

Diplomat Singh arrived in the country on August 3, where he was received by his diplomatic staff accredited in Venezuela and by a delegation from the People’s Power Ministry for Foreign Relations headed by the General Director of the Office of the Vice-ministry for Asia, Middle East and Oceania, Elizabeth Pereira Rohan.

In a recent ceremony that took place in the Miraflores Palace, the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, received the credentials of the new Indian ambassador, thus securing the development of important projects for the benefit of both peoples in times of pandemic.

This activity also included the participation of the People’s Power Minister for Health, Dr. Carlos Alvarado.

The commitment of the national Government is to keep advancing in relations of mutual respect, shared benefits, where international law is what governs the development of cooperation and friendship.
