Venezuela confers Francisco de Miranda Order in its First Class to Belarusian ambassador
The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela conferred this Wednesday the Francisco de Miranda Order -in its first class-, to the Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus, Oleg S. Paferov.
The decoration was imposed by Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza in a solemn act where the diplomat’s career in Venezuelan territory was recognized at the end of his term of office.
The formal ceremony held in the spaces of the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry served for the Ambassador of Belarus to express his gratitude to the Venezuelan Government for the honors and to relate his experience in the country.
“This award will always make me remember the eight years I spent on Venezuelan soil, which have not been easy, but that have been fruitful (…) I can affirm that during my stay in Venezuela I have met many friends and have become a true friend of the Venezuelan people (…) The people of Belarus will always be grateful for the support provided in these difficult times”, said the diplomat.
Ambassador Paferov also highlighted the work -despite geographic distances- that the then President Hugo Chávez did along with President Aleksandr Lukashenko, in order to establish links for the progress of both peoples.
Likewise, the Ambassador thanked President Nicolás Maduro for the work done in recent years and the support provided in the first round of the recent presidential elections.
For his part, Foreign Minister Arreaza highlighted the remarkable work carried out by the Belarusian Ambassador in recent years, despite the constant difficulties the country has faced.
“He has lived 8 very intense years of the contemporary history of Venezuela. He has witnessed the victory of the 2012 elections, the illness and the physical departure of Commander Hugo Chávez and what that implied for the Venezuelan people (…) The constant struggle despite all the aggression, the attacks by the US imperialism and the Venezuelan bourgeoisie subjected to the designs of the White House”, said the Foreign Minister.
Regarding this, he said that both “Belarus and Venezuela face the same attacks, replicating the exact same pattern-script”, for which he reaffirmed the support of the Venezuelan Government and its Head of State in these difficult times.
The Minister for Foreign Relations ended his speech by calling for the strengthening of bilateral relations despite adversities.
“We must relaunch our bilateral relationship, be very creative in new cooperation formulas. Two countries that are subject to aggression must think well, seek to clear the equation to be able to raise their relations to a higher level”, he insisted.
