Venezuela congratulates Argentina on 204th anniversary of independence

President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Nicolás Maduro and authorities of the Venezuelan government congratulated on Thursday the Argentinean people and their President Alberto Fernández on the 204th anniversary of the independence of the brotherly nation.

President Nicolás Maduro sent his congratulations and highlighted that the Argentinean people are worthy heirs of independence hero José de San Martín as they cherish hopes for the construction of a better world.

“Congratulations to President @alferdez and the Argentinean people on the occasion of the 204th anniversary of their independence. They are worthy heirs of the legacy of San Martín, walking the path of hopes for the construction of a better world,” he wrote on this Twitter account @NicolasMaduro.

Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza also posted a congratulations message on this Twitter account @jaarreaza to express that Venezuela honors the San Martín’s deed of emancipation and the struggles of the Argentinean people for their peace and freedom.

“We congratulate the Argentinean people, government and President @alferdez on the 204th anniversary of their independence. From Venezuela, we honor the deed of emancipation performed by José de San Martín, and the struggles of the Argentinean people for keeping and strengthening peace and freedom,” tweeted Arreaza.

Vice-minister for Latin America Rander Peña also praised the legacy of Argentinean liberators Belgrano, Balcarce, Artigas, Martín Güemes, San Martín and Aráoz on the new anniversary of Argentina’s independence.

“The Venezuelan people congratulate the Government and People of Argentina on their 204th Anniversary of Independence. We celebrate this historic day as ours, and praise the legacy of Belgrano, Balcarce, Artigas, Martín Güemes, San Martín y Aráoz. Long live our free, sovereign nations!” he posted on his Twitter account @RanderPena.

On July 9, 1816, the Congress of Tucumán declared the United Provinces of River Plate, today the Republic of Argentina, to be politically independent from the Spanish monarchy and rejected any other form of foreign rule.
