The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, gave this Monday a 72-hour period for the ambassador of the European Union (EU), Isabel Brilhante Pedrosa, to leave the country, due to the recurrent interventionist policy of the European bloc in Venezuelan affairs.
“I have decided to give the European Union Ambassador in Caracas 72 hours to leave our country. Enough of European colonialism against Venezuela it’s enough!” Stressed the president during the award ceremony for the Simón Bolívar 2020 National Journalism Prize.
From the Miraflores Palace in Caracas, President Maduro strongly rejected the EU’s decision to illegally sanction 11 citizens who are part of Venezuelan institutions, including the president of the National Assembly (AN), Luis Parra.
“Today the European Union issued a resolution sanctioning Venezuelans who, as part of state institutions, respect the Constitution, they sanctioned the AN leadership, because it has refused to carry out orders from the EU Embassy in Caracas”, he denounced.
In his speech, the Head of State also confirmed that as soon as the National Electoral Council (CNE) calls the date of the parliamentary elections, the Venezuelan people will go out to vote for a new National Assembly.
“Prepare yourselves, colonialist, supremacist and racist gentlemen, because in Venezuela there are going to be a free, transparent, and parliamentary elections with the participation of thousands of male and female candidates”, he said.
Abyss of illegality
The EU resolution was previously rejected by the People’s Power Minister for Foreign Relations, Jorge Arreaza, who warned that colonial heritage and reminiscences lead the EU through the abyss of illegality.
“The European Union repeats its interventionist policy against dialogue and peace in Venezuela. Their colonial heritage and reminiscences lead them through the abyss of illegality, aggression and persecution of our peoples. Venezuela reserves due and forceful response”, the Venezuelan Foreign Minister posted on his Twitter account @ jaarreaza.
