Venezuela denounces US fence that prevents the acquisition of food, medicine and gasoline

The People’s Power Minister for Foreign Relations, Jorge Arreaza, denounced this Thursday that the United States government continues to promote a siege against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela that prevents the acquisition of food, medicine and gasoline.

This is about the recent sanctions imposed by the Treasury Department on the companies Schlager Business Group and Libre Abordo, both based in Mexico, for their commercial link with the Caribbean country.

According to the Treasury Department, these companies are “associated with a network that attempts to evade United States sanctions against Venezuela’s oil sector”.

There are also new coercive measures against two ships, one with the Panamanian flag and the other with the Liberian flag.

The Venezuelan foreign minister insisted that “the UN multilateral system must react” and assured that this case will also be added to the referral presented to the International Criminal Court.

In this regard, the United States Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, confessed that these actions are aimed at the “oil for food” scheme and in a contradictory way assured that his government will continue in the search for freedom and prosperity for Venezuelans.

“Your actions and sanctions are criminal, Mr. Pompeo. Whatever you do will not distort the will of the Venezuelan people. None of your plans has worked with Venezuela, nor will they work. Thank you for your confessions and evidence to be taken to the International Criminal Court”, Foreign Minister Arreaza wrote on his Twitter account @jaarreaza.
