Minister of People’s Power for Foreign Affairs Jorge Arreaza debunked a statement made by the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) that ensures UK ambassador informed the Bolivarian Government, during a visit to the country, about the “Venezuela Reconstruction Unit,” created by the FCO.
“The United Kingdom lies. They never mentioned a Venezuelan Reconstruction Unit, nor would we have allowed it. We learnt of it through The Canary. They masked the destabilizing purpose of their visit with false internal meetings with their Embassy,” wrote the Venezyelsn diplomat on his Twitter account @jaarreaza.
Wendy Morton, parliamentary under-secretary at the FCO, affirms the Ambassador and the team of the aforementioned meddling unit, established in 2019 according to her own words, visited Venezuela, and their ambassador “ensured the regime were aware of the visit and spoke publicly about the Unit and its staff.”
Arreaza also attached information on the entry into Venezuela of British Ambassador John Donald William Saville on February 9, 2020.
Regarding the creation of the Venezuelan Reconstruction Unit, Foreign Minister Arreaza demanded the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland an explanation on May 14 and presented the UK diplomatic representative to Caracas Duncan Hill a formal protest, demanding the United Kingdom to abandon Washington’s coup-mongering plans and any destabilizing initiative.
