When 96 imported cases were detected, of which 90 came from Colombia and six through contact with international travelers, the total number of infections by COVID-19 amounted to 2,473 in Venezuela.

The balance was offered by the Executive Vice-president of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, who highlighted that for the second consecutive day there are no community-transmitted infections.

At the end of the meeting of the Presidential Commission for Follow-up, Control and Prevention of COVID-19, she pointed out that 28 of the 90 cases from Colombia are minors, which is why specialized care measures have been adopted.

“All were duly isolated and admitted to CDI (Comprehensive Diagnosis Centers), they are receiving the treatment protocol, which we must say have been very efficient in controlling the disease”, he said.

From the Miraflores Palace, located in Caracas, she indicated that the recovery rate remains at 487. She also detailed that 1,964 cases are active, while the mortality statistic is at 22.

Regarding the entry of compatriots across the border, Rodríguez pointed out that 55 thousand 924 Venezuelans have returned, who have received preventive and specialized care at the Comprehensive Social Care Posts (Pasi).

“Of these, we have 1,609 positive cases. We are under serious threat and therefore we must respect the guidelines issued by the Presidential Commission”, she said.

Rodríguez reported that 1 million 039 thousand 506 diagnostic tests have been applied, equivalent to 34 thousand 640 tests per million inhabitants.
