Foreign Minister Arreaza: ‘Blockade against Venezuela is also a media blockade’
The U.S. illegally imposed blockade against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela also includes a media blackout, denounced Thursday, May 21, Minister of People’s Power for Foreign Affairs Jorge Arreaza.
Notwithstanding, Venezuela’s allies like Russia have exposed Washington in international forums and media in defense of the Charter of the United Nations.
“With the last violent actions and threats, the Trump administration has been exposed,” stressed the Venezuelan foreign minister on his Twitter account @jaarreaza.
The Venezuelan diplomat mentioned a recent briefing by Foreign Ministry Spokesperson of the Russian Federation Maria Zakharova, who sad that “the US administration’s preservation and even toughening of sanctions against Venezuela is becoming increasingly appalling.”
” The attempts to palm them off as ‘targeted’ restrictions against certain representatives of the national leadership (…) hold no water,” expressed Zakharova, who compared the effects of unilateral coercive measures against Venezuela with the effects of coronavirus on the human body: ” In both cases, the oxygen supply system is affected.”
At the recent meeting of the UN Security Council, the Russian Federation ratified its support to the people and government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and condemned the recent “mercenary adventure” in the Latin American country.
