Venezuela registers 459 cases of Covid-19 when detecting 4 new cases this Friday

The Presidential Commission for the Prevention, Attention and Control for Covid-19 reported four new cases, to reach a total of 459 infections in the national territory. “In the last 24 hours we have to report the appearance of four new cases of Covid-19”, reported the Sector Vice-president of Communication, Cultural and Tourism, Jorge Rodríguez. From the “Simón Bolívar” Press Room at the Miraflores Palace, Rodríguez explained that these are three imported cases, two citizens from Chile and one from Ecuador, and the fourth infection resulted from community transmission. The residential location of these people is in the states of Barinas, La Guaira and Miranda. He pointed out that currently 229 people have recovered, -equivalent to 49.9 percent of the total cases-, 98 are being treated in hospitals, 104 in Comprehensive Diagnostic Centers (CDI), 18 in private clinics and the report of 10 deceased is maintained. “We don’t have more deaths since April 19, because we have all the therapeutic arsenal to comply with the universal protocol for treatment against infection”, said the Sector Vice-president on Friday night. To date, Venezuela remains the country with the highest number of tests per million inhabitants in Latin America and the Caribbean with the application of 540 thousand 236 tests, said Rodríguez, which represents 18 thousand 8 tests per million inhabitants.
