Measures decreed to stop the advance of Covid-19 in the country remain in force

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro Moros, reported this Sunday that the measures decreed to stop the advance of Covid-19 in the country are maintained; for this reason, the social and collective quarantine continues, as well as the prohibition of social gatherings and public events throughout the national territory. Through a telephone contact with Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), the President urged regional, state and national authorities to comply with the Constitutional Alarm Decree in order to prevent and combat the spread of the new Coronavirus. Venezuela has registered this May 10 12 new cases of Covid-19 contagion, with which the number rises to 414 diagnosed, a fact that “has to be an alarm for us”, warned the President. In this sense, he called on all the Venezuelan people to retake the disciplined, voluntary, conscious and social spirit of quarantine as the only mechanism for containing the pandemic.
