Venezuela to denounce before UN Security Council and Non-Aligned Movement illegal incursion of mercenary groups
President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro announced on Wednesday at a press conference that Venezuela will prepare a strong denunciation of the recent illegal incursion of mercenary groups financed by the United States to be presented to the UN Security Council and members of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).
“We will turn to the UN Security Council. I instructed Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza and Ambassador Samuel Moncada (…) so that we can secure legitimate international protection for Venezuela.”
The Venezuelan president seized the opportunity to call on political leaders from opposition parties: “Is this the path you want? Mercenaries, invasions and occupation of the country? Let’s make decisions and send a clear message of peace to the world. Let’s reach a humanitarian agreement to save Venezuela from the pandemic.”
In the international press conference, President Maduro also informed that Venezuela will file reports containing videos and contracts as evidence of the illegal armed incursion, adding them to the complaint filed on February 13 to the International Criminal Court (ICC).
