Bolivarian Government will carry out special operations for Venezuelans who want to return from South American countries
In compliance with the instruction issued by President Nicolás Maduro; The People’s Power Minister for Foreign Relations, Jorge Arreaza, communicated this Tuesday, through his Twitter account @jaarreaza, that from next week they will organize special operations of the Plan Vuelta a Patria to facilitate the return of thousands of compatriots from South American countries, on flights of the state airline Conviasa and by land.
The nationals in a situation of urgency or vulnerability in the region’s receiving countries, should contact the Venezuelan embassy or consulate in the respective nation and register for the benefit of repatriation.
After regretting the death of two Venezuelans, run over when they were making the journey on foot to return to Venezuela, the Head of State reported this Friday that he instructed “the Vice-president -Delcy Rodríguez- to prepare a special plan to bring those Venezuelans; to arrange buses or send our planes” to repatriate compatriots fleeing from xenophobia, the arbitrary eviction of their residences, persecution and the new Coronavirus (Covid-19).
The president stressed that one of the limitations that has prevented the rescue of these compatriots has been the blockade imposed by the US government on the airline Conviasa and that “these countries of the Lima Group do not want to receive the planes that I have ready to search for the Venezuelans in Chile, Peru, etc”.
The Sector Vice-president of Communication, Culture and Tourism, Jorge Rodríguez, specified this Saturday that a total of 23,822 Venezuelans have entered the national territory through the border area looking for protection against the advance of Covid-19.
He specified that 13,828 returned through Táchira; 4 thousand 517 from Zulia; 3,792 from Apure and 1,685 entered through Bolívar state, in the south of the country.
