Venezuela registers 331 COVID-19 cases
“Venezuela registers 331 COVID-19 cases as two new cases were detected in recent hours,” informed Vice-president Delcy Rodríguez.
During an updated briefing on coronavirus in Venezuela at the Miraflores Presidential Palace, Rodríguez explained that 42.9% of COVID-19 patients, 142 people, have recovered.
About the number of infected people, she said that 105 of them are asymptomatic; therefore, she stressed the importance of using facemasks to avoid the spread of the virus.
Out of the total number of cases, there are 69 patients with mild respiratory insufficiency, 3 with moderate respiratory insufficiency, and 2 with severe respiratory insufficiency who are being taken care in intensive care units. Venezuela still registers 10 deaths.
Rodríguez said that Venezuela’s health public system has done 458,737 tests so far, reaching a total of 15,291 tests per 1 million population.
Finally, the Venezuelan vice-president referred to the number of cases registered worldwide and said that there are 3,207,797 COVID-19 cases, out of which “277,390 people, brothers of the world, have unfortunately died.”
